Rombola Family Farms is seeking a passionate and driven Farm Operations Supervisor to join our team in Mataranka NT. The Farm Operations Supervisor will be a hands-on, strategic thinker with demonstrated people leadership skills and operational experience. This role will oversee operations to ensure production efficiency, quality, services and cost effective management of resources (including plant, equipment and human resources). The role will also manage overall day-to-day operations and supervision of direct reports to meet the needs of the production schedule.

Key operational accountabilities include:

The Grower is a key member of the Rombola Family Farms production team. This role will oversee the cropping process from ground preparation, irrigation, fertigation, seeding, through to picking of all vegetable crops. Supported by in-house industry agronomy and irrigation personnel, implementation of crop management practices will be key to increase vegetable yield and success in this role.

The Irrigation Manager is responsible for the day to day irrigating and fertigating, in excess of 1200 hectares of Melon, Pumpkin and broccoli crops. You will be responsible for the coordination of all irrigation infrastructure servicing, repairs and maintenance and trouble shooting and coordinating all key maintenance aspects of the system.

This is an intensive horticulture enterprise, which requires a manager that is motivated, hands on and able to work under pressure. This position will suit an individual with a mechanical aptitude and a flair for technology.

Key operational accountabilities include:

  • Work with the grower/s to monitor plant growth, soil moisture, nutrition, and health. 
  • Utilise scientific methods to calculate crop water requirements. Taking advantage of soil moisture monitors, satellite imagery and hyperlocal weather forecasts.

Rombola Family Farms is seeking a passionate and driven National Supply Chain Manager to join our team in Griffith, NSW. Rombola Family Farms grows over 4,000 hectares of horticultural crops in three states, NSW, NT & QLD. With several produce grading and packing lines along with refrigerated warehouses to support the distribution of product to market. Crops being produced on the three sites include Seedless watermelon, Rockmelons, Honeydew, Broccoli, and Pumpkin.

Reporting to the Manager Director, the National Supply Chain Manager will lead a dedicated team to achieve the supply chain, strategic operational priorities and business objectives across all of our farms. This role will facilitate the smooth day-to-day operations interactions between Sales, Production, Logistic and Farm Operations departments to ensure we meet our customer requirement by planning, analysing, monitoring, and scheduling stock requirements. 

About you:

An enthusiastic, driven and pro-active organisational leader who is process-driven and can work in conjunction with our Managing Director to lead the business supply chain strategies and changes across all the departments. Reporting to the Harvest Manager, the Harvest Supervisor will play a key role to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of harvest activities.  The focus of this role is to supervise and coordinate the fruit picking teams, to ensure the harvest is completed to the required standards.

Rombola Family Farms is seeking a passionate and driven Junior Agronomist to join our production team in Griffith, NSW. 

The successful applicant will be a key support to the agronomy team and will assist with pest monitoring, field trials and help manage assessments. They will be responsible for field collections of sap, tissue and soil samples, and prepare the samples for in house analysis as well as by an independent laboratory. The recording and collation of field data, entry and analysis of the data into relevant systems is an important part of the role, while analysing produce to set and maintain standards of quality.

Rombola Family Farms is seeking expressions of interest for a passionate and driven Sales Account Manager to join our team. Responsible for liaising with our existing retail, wholesale, export, and processor customers daily, gathering market intelligence, balancing supply & demand and managing to price. The Sales Account Manager is at the centre of the day to day activities of what is a progressive and vibrant business. The successful applicant will be a strong team player, liaising daily with the supply chain & production teams to understand fruit quality and supply for the short, medium, and long term. They will also have ‘A’ grade analytical skills, monitoring inventory allocation and return pricing.

Key operational accountabilities include:

  • Liaise daily with retail, wholesale, export and processor customers to gather qualitative and quantitative market intelligence
  • Set prices and allocate inventory by the customer in order to achieve product flow (supply and demand balance) and implement the agreed sales plan in the short, medium and long term.
  • Liaise with the production team to prioritise and plan daily and weekly packing schedules.
  • Liaise with the logistics function daily to plan the transportation of seedless & pumpkins from the company’s farms to our 3PL service providers and the company’s customers.
  • Manage pricing confirmations, quality claims and payment days by customer
  • Develop & manage effective working relationships with the businesses retail, wholesale, export and processor customers
  • Contribute to seasonal demand forecasting and planting schedule design discussions with the production and sales chain teams.
