Rombola Family Farms is seeking a passionate and driven WHS Officer to join our team in Griffith, NSW. Rombola Family Farms grows over 4,000 hectares of horticultural crops in three states, NSW, NT & QLD. Reporting to the HR&WHS Business Partner, the WHS Officer (recent graduate) will participate in our WHS training program to develop their skills. As part of the HR team, the key duties for this role include: 

  • WHS management system design, development, and assisting with implementation.
  • Auditing and review of Rombola Family Farms WHS management systems and practices.
  • Enrolling employees in Nationally Recognised WHS training.
  • Incident management and investigation.
  • Conducting WHS risk assessments, inspections, and reviews.

Rombola Family Farms is seeking a passionate and driven General Manager – Horticulture to join our team in Griffith, NSW. Rombola Family Farms grows over 4,000 hectares of horticultural crops in three states, NSW, NT & QLD. The General Manager – Horticulture role is an integral part of the leadership team working alongside the Managing Director.  It is a “hands-on” position, suited to someone looking to take on the challenge of a broader farm business management role. The overall purpose is to oversee all the farm activities for each of our sites, to establish areas of improvement and growth. 

About you: 

We are looking for someone who is self-starting, process-driven and enjoys working collaboratively with staff at all levels.  They will possess a high level of emotional intelligence and be comfortable leading a dynamic fast paced business. 

Reporting to the Managing Director, the General Manager – Horticulture will be responsible to deliver the production plan implemented by crop to ensure each product category is available as scheduled and when required by our customers. 

Responsible for our three growing regions you will oversee all farming activities in each region. Working to ensure that production systems are optimised to meet quality standards, production targets whilst maintaining a high level of labour productivity will be the key to success for this role.  

You will be a leader who will champion the overall strategic business objectives and be able to drive change in a positive and supportive environment where our people are engaged and motivated, empowering them to deliver high-level performance.  With a proven background in the identification and developing of personnel to support the continued growth of the business.

To be successful in the role you will possess the following:

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in a management capacity within the agriculture industry. 
  • Skilled at crop health, production planning, pest, and disease management. 
  • Tertiary qualifications in agriculture will be highly regarded.
  • A flair for technology, with a strong understanding of precision ag.
  • Excellent communicator.

Rombola Family Farms is seeking a passionate and driven Senior Agronomist to join our production team in Griffith, NSW. 

Overseeing 4,000ha of intensive Row Cropping – Vegetables, Almond and Wine grape enterprises the Senior Agronomist will work closely with the production team providing strategic guidance on varietal selection, production schedules, irrigation, nutrition, weed, pest and disease control practises.

Key operational accountabilities include:

  • Providing guidance and support to Farm managers to achieve production objectives.
  • Ensure best agronomic practice is adhered to across operations, utilising the most up to date technology to measure crop health in real-time.

About you:

The Chief Financial Officer is an integral member of the Executive Leadership Team, providing financial insight and expertise to support key business and strategic decisions.  As head of the Finance Team, the Manager will lead all aspects of the Finance Function, including completion and analysis supporting reporting, compliance, budgeting/forecasting and cash flow management.

The Agronomist is a key support to the agronomy team and will assist with pest monitoring, field trials, and help manage assessments. They will be responsible for field collections of sap, tissue, and soil samples, and prepare the samples for analysis by an independent laboratory. The recording and collation of field data, entry, and analysis of the data into relevant systems is an important part of the role.

  • This role is responsible for ensuring quality systems are in place and functional to assist the safe and effective delivery of products to customers. Specifically, the Quality Assurance Manager will manage, develop, implement, and review the quality policies and procedures in line with the organisation’s goals and business plans and all customer’s quality regulations.

  • Key operational accountabilities include:
  • Monitor the company’s implementation of its quality assurance systems, processes and record-keeping standards in the field and packing facilities.
  • Facilitates audits and visits by government authorities, certifying bodies and customer product technologists in an efficient and effective manner.

  • Tertiary qualifications in food science or related discipline will be highly regarded.

  • GMP, HACCP AQIS, WQA and Global gap training, or food safety procedure training or exposure to these systems and processes are required.

  • The role of the truck driver is to transport Rombola Family Farms produce. The position will require to load and unload goods, troubleshooting mechanical issues, change tyres, and conduct repairs.

  • Manoeuvring vehicles into position for loading and unloading.
  • Loading and unloading vehicles using lifting and tipping devices.
  • Observing safety requirements when loading and unloading vehicles.
  • Making regular quality checks of vehicles to ensure they can be driven safely.
  • Estimating weights to comply with load limitations and ensuring safe distribution of weight.
  • Ensuring goods are stowed and securely covered to prevent loss and damage.
